Our Mission: Dent Middle School, in partnership with its students, families, and community, provides each student a comprehensive, quality education in a supportive environment by offering relevant, challenging learning experiences that prepare students to become responsible individuals and citizens.

Dent Middle School is located at one end of the International Corridor of Decker Boulevard in the northeast area of Columbia, SC. Our population consists of over 1200 students of diverse backgrounds, 90 faculty members and about 20 support staff. We are home to three magnet programs (TLC, TWO Academies, and FAME). We are the largest middle school in Richland School District 2, as well as the oldest school in the district (since 1926).
