- Boys Soccer Team receives NUMBER ONE ranking by NSCCA/Adidas National Rankings
- AFJROTC Cadets Eron Fayson and Marcus Lara placed first nationally in the Masters Level Dual Exhibition (Fancy) Armed Event. Additionally, Fayson won 2nd place int he Solo Exhibition (Fancy) Individual Armed Event and Lara won 5th Place in the same event, during the National High School Drill Team Championship.
- Spring Valley was recognized by the Siemens Foundation and the College Board as one of the top 50 high schools in the United States based on "Spring Valley's commitment to providing its students opportunities to explore the AP Program and its staff's dedication to student success." Spring Valley students had an 88% pass rate on all AP exams administered by the College Board in May, 2007.
- Graham Van Schaik named an Intel Science Talent Search Finalist. .
- Harry Richman scored a perfect 2400 on the SAT. Trevor Auman scored a perfect 36 on the ACT.
- Allie Voss and Mack Montgomery were named 2007 USA Swimming Scholastic All Americans.
- Aurel Lazar, Emily Niehaus, Gina Noh, Graham Van Schaik and Will Shrader have been selected as 2008 Robert C. Byrd Scholars.
- SV has 10 students who are National Merit Finalists. Katherine Fanning, Tianjia Ge, Daniel Gibbs, Aurel Lazar, John Maney, Thomas Maney, Gina Noh, William Shrader, Graham Van Schaik, and Michelle Zhang. Eric Potts was named a National Merit Semifinalist. In addition, James Cunningham was named a National Achievement Semifinalist.
2007 senior class had an average SAT score of 1033 beating the national average of 1017 by 16 points. Discovery Program seniors have an average SAT score of 1314 (297 points above the national average). Explorations Program seniors have an average SAT score of 1115 (98 points above the national average).
Siemens identified Spring Valley as having one of the best student success rates in AP in the state. SVHS was named the Siemens Advanced Placement School of the Year for South Carolina.

88% pass rate for Advanced Placement tests given in May, 2007 and 85% pass rate for tests given in May, 2006, compared to the national pass rate of 59.6%
